Helps guide readers and emerging readers with reading skills using a world-renown and researched seven-step phonics model. Through fun and entertaining activities, students begin with recognizing single sounds and progressively advance to blending sounds and then creating words. As students move through each skill level the program automatically tracks progress and tailors content accordingly. The program also includes a special section where teachers can customize the program to match the student's learning needs. I Love Phonics! gives readers a basic understanding of letters, sounds, and phonemes, a crucial first step for success in reading!
Offers two options for child’s play. The default mode, called “Step by Step”, presents the 44 phonemes (units of sound) of the English language in a sequential manner. In this mode, certain games become available at certain times and the child doesn’t have free exploration. The other option is for parents to select specific letters and phonemes to appear in the games that children can then explore on their own.
The learning takes place in the “Phonics Funhouse” where kids meet Alice, Ted, and a cute mouse named Max. With these characters, kids explore lessons about phonics and play five games.
In the games, children can build words by using refrigerator magnets; learn letter sounds and rhymes by matching the requested sound or the missing rhyme to a photograph; and practice identifying sounds by playing bingo or by dragging letters or sounds to a special “Sound box.” A special train helps children learn to draw letters.
